Dining Host – Part Time (Cornell Hospital) Location: New York, New York Shift: Day Flex (United States of America) Position Overview Graciously serve food and beverages to patients, staff and visitors at NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Assist guests in meal selection that complies with dietary restrictions, articulate menu offerings and specials, maintain cleanliness and presentation of service equipment. Responsibilities Serve food and beverages to patients, staff and visitors. Assist guests in the selection of meals that meet dietary restrictions. Articulate menu items and specials to guests with appropriate descriptions. Monitor equipment, flatware, plateware, and glassware prior to service for cleanliness and presentation. Promote various menu items, take and recite orders, and provide friendly, helpful customer service. Preferred Criteria Previous food service and/or hospitality experience in a formal setting. Formal black and white room service or waiter experience. Required Criteria High school diploma or GED. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests. Ability to repeatedly transport large serving trays weighing up to 40 pounds through crowded areas. Part‑time position requiring rotating shifts and coverage on weekends/holidays.
