SUMMARY

The position encompasses the dismantling, repair and preventive maintenance of injection molding machines, offset printing presses, miscellaneous equipment and overall facility upkeep. Equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical skills are highly utilized in the position. The employee will work under the close supervision of the Maintenance Manager. In the case of absence, the Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager or other Maintenance Technicians will assume duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting: Finding and fixing air leaks, pressure drops, and faulty valves.
• Component Repair: Working on cylinders, actuators, solenoids, hoses, and air regulators.
• Calibration: Adjusting flow controls and ensuring precise mechanical movements.
• Preventative Maintenance: Inspecting filters, lubricators, and compressors to avoid unexpected factory downtime.

Common Skills Required

• Reading schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and piping layouts.
• Knowledge of 24VDC electrical controls that trigger pneumatic solenoids.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and industrial safety rules.

An electrical maintenance technician typically needs 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial or commercial settings, focusing on troubleshooting circuits, wiring, and automated machinery.

Key Experience Requirements

• General Experience: Most employers look for at least 2 to 3 years of general maintenance or industrial electrical experience. Advanced or journey-level roles can require 4 to 5 years .
• Troubleshooting: Minimum of 2 years specifically diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, control panels, and power distribution.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED is standard, often paired with a 2-year technical degree , trade certification, or a formal apprenticeship program.

Core Skills Expected

• Diagnostics: Using multimeters, clamp meters, and testing tools to check voltage, resistance, and continuity.
• Systems Knowledge: Understanding three-phase AC/DC drives, transformers, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
• Reading Schematics: Ability to interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Automation: Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) like Allen-Bradley or Siemens.
