Radiological Technician (Rad Tech) - FT Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that has served rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties for 121 years. The hospital provides 24/7 emergency care as an accredited chest pain center and offers comprehensive outpatient, imaging, diagnostic, and specialty services. How you'll contribute Identify patients by name and birth date, review orders for clinical and demographic consistency, and verify accuracy. Interview patients for clinical history, review previous procedures, and document relevant history for the radiologist. Explain procedures to patients and obtain consent for contrast when needed. Prepare patients for procedures, ensure necessary preparation is performed, and check for any artifact-producing objects. Position patients correctly for examination. Order and perform the correct examination. Perform procedures in accordance with established protocols and in a timely manner. Operate radiology equipment correctly. Administer oral and IV contrast. Perform venipuncture using sterile technique, when competent. Recognize and respond to emergency situations. Follow ALARA principles: wear film badge, use patient shielding, and apply appropriate repeat rate.
