Medical Scribe

Job Description The Scribe is responsible for capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the patient visit into the EMR in a timely manner, assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures, and supporting site operations such as patient flow, inventory, labs, and compliance with Department of Health regulations. The role also includes providing excellent customer service and managing volume without compromising quality. Responsibilities Assist physician with basic patient care and medical procedures (e.g., urine drug screens, lab processing, fit testing, point‑of‑care tests, UA, EKG, procedure set‑ups). Maintain Department of Health compliance of site labs and exam rooms (logbook maintenance, verify expired meds, proper specimen handling). Escort patients to exam rooms, X‑ray or other facility sites as needed. Facilitate diagnostic tests (CT, MRI, ultrasound) and coordinate referrals via after‑care. Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance. Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment and ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies. Provide compassionate care and support to patients. Qualifications High school degree or GED (undergraduate degree a plus). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire. Friendly and professional bedside manner, excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail, good organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a team player in a fast‑paced urgent‑care environment. Flexible with full‑time schedule including weekends. Bilingual language skills preferred; basic English proficiency required. Knowledge of third‑party payer requirements preferred. Ability to lift light to moderate weights and maintain quick pace during shift (8‑12 hours, excluding meal/break). Physical Requirements The job requires lifting light to moderate amounts of weight and maintaining a quick pace during a shift of 8–12 hours, excluding meal/break time. Pay Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour.
