Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) located in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing patient care in a fast-paced, Level I trauma center within an acute care hospital that is recognized as a magnet facility. The role requires flexibility to float as needed and dedication to delivering high-quality clinical services.

Job Details:

• Shift: 3x12 Days (0645-1915)
• Schedule: Days, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in relevant settings; active Illinois nursing license; certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). ACLS is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in telemetry, neuro stepdown, and PCU/IMC/stepdown units; Cerner charting system experience; hospital and trauma level I experience preferred.
• Float: Will float as needed within scope to meet facility needs.
• Special Requirements: Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, management of post-cardiac procedures, ventilated patient care, and management of various medical and surgical conditions including trauma, neurosurgery, and orthopedics. Experience with tracheostomy, ventilator management, and invasive lines is required.
• Patient Care Area: Adults with diverse diagnoses; fast-paced environment with high patient throughput.
• Unit Details: Support from physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Average daily census of 34 patients in a 38-bed unit.
• Additional Notes: Must be able to manage tracheostomies with ventilators and work in a unit with high patient throughput. Orientation includes 24 hours.
