Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar Position PHYSICIAN SCIENTIST, Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of California. The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is recruiting a Physician Scientist Scholar for its UCSF Women’s Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) K12 Career Development Program. This position is for an obstetrician‑gynecologist committed to becoming an independent clinical, translational, and/or basic science researcher in women’s reproductive health. It includes 2‑ to 5‑years of intensive mentored research combined with patient care. Successful candidates will have experience formulating and conducting research studies, publishing manuscripts, and in some cases, applying for funding with a focus on women’s reproductive health. Appointed WRHR Scholars will be expected to formulate and conduct research studies, publish manuscripts, and apply for independent funding that is focused on women’s reproductive health. Required Qualifications Be a physician holding an MD or DO degree. Have completed or be in the final year of postgraduate residency training in obstetrics‑gynecology. Have completed or be in the final year of postdoctoral fellowship training in obstetrics and gynecology, if subspecializing, or in the final year of advanced training in clinical research. Identify mentors with extensive research experience. If selected, devote at least 75% effort to conducting research and career development. Not have served as principal investigator on an R01 or R29, a subproject of a Program Project (P01) or Center grant (P50, P60, U54), an independent mentored career development (K‑series) grant, or other such awards. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. Minimum base salary range is $131,200‑$204,100. The position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.
