Vice President of Finance

DESCRIPTION

As an integral part of Broadstreet Bank's Accounting and Finance team, the VP Finance is responsible for the Bank's financial planning and analysis, budgeting, management reporting, performance analysis, and financial decision supportReporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP Finance serves as a strategic finance partner to executive management and business leaders, translating financial and operating information into actionable insights and recommendations.

The VP Finance will play a critical role helping management understand business performance, allocate capital and resources, evaluate strategic opportunities, and anticipate financial outcomes.


The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with a practical understanding of banking economics, including net interest income, balance sheet growth, funding, credit, capital, liquidity, operating expenses, and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Bank's annual budgeting and financial planning processPartner with department leaders to develop realistic operating plans and financial targetsContinuously improve the Bank's budgeting processes, tools, assumptions, and methodologies.

• Support the CFO and Controller with earnings preparation and financial reporting including internal, SEC, and regulatory reporting.

• Provide timely analysis of actual results versus budget, prior periods, and strategic objectivesExplain significant variances and identify underlying business driversDevelop and maintain management reporting tools and financial dashboardsEstablish and monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics.
• Partner with the Controller to ensure management reporting is based on consistent and reliable financial information.

• Analyze the financial performance of the Bank's branches, products, and channels.
• Support the Asset/Liability Management, Interest Rate Risk, and Liquidity Management processesEvaluate the financial implications of changes in interest rates, balance sheet mix, pricing, credit trends, deposit behavior, and other key banking variables.

• Prepare financial analyses and presentations for the Board of Directors and Board committees.

• Support the CFO and other appropriate functions on capital, liquidity, and balance sheet planningAnalyze the financial impact of alternative balance sheet strategies and growth scenariosPerform stress testing, scenario analysis, and strategic planning activities as appropriate.

• Improve the availability, quality, and usability of financial and operating dataIdentify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and analysisHelp develop the Bank's financial data and analytics capabilities as the organization grows.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance

Work Experience:

• 4-6 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates coming from banking, public accounting or financial services.

Certifications:

• CPA preferred but not required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires the highest level of integrity and sound judgment, especially when handling confidential or sensitive information.

• Requires strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Understanding bank finance and regulation is a plus.

• Excellent analytical abilities with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.

• Ability to identify and implement process enhancements demonstrates strong business acumen and professionalism.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex financial concepts across all levels of the organization.

• Skilled in managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving projects to completion.

• Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
