Registered Nurse - Float Pool 1 - Nights

Job Summary The Float Pool Clinical Nurse provides patient-centered, specialized, evidence-based nursing care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education, and advocacy. Key Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develop a plan of care in collaboration with the patient and multidisciplinary team. Plan for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes. Demonstrate clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned; perform all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN) (age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, culturally specific). Identify ways to improve the patient’s experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction. Contribute to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians. Provide consultation and maintain positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care. Demonstrate, anticipate, and proactively manage risk to prevent crises; perform skillfully in life threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crisis situations. Qualifications BSN required; any non‑BSN nurse with Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting. Experience with Float Pool and/or Resource teams in healthcare settings. Current Wisconsin RN or compact nursing licensure. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire. Shift Details Shift pattern: Straight days 0700‑1900; nights also available. Weekly hours: 30; FTE: 0.75. Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center – Appleton, Wisconsin. Schedule: 10 days a month for .7 FTE roles; premium pay for float pool. Working Conditions Physically demanding; lift up to 50 pounds. Exposure to blood borne pathogens, sharp objects, and other hazards; must follow safety protocols.
