Civil Engineer I/II - Signal Systems Division

Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks for FAST-TRAC and other ITS programs, including, but not limited to: Generate traffic signal timings for both SCATS and non-SCATS intersections. Prepare and distribute accurate signal paperwork for field install. Prepare and enter SCATS and CENTRACS data. Monitor traffic in the field or remotely (SCATS, CCTV); make appropriate changes. Coordinate Communication and/or Detection issues. Respond to Cityworks requests / comments. Review and provide comments on consultant signal timing projects. Respond to overtime calls. Functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office. A demonstrated willingness and desire to learn new skills. Must demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written) Must have the ability to work within a team environment. Must perform duties in a professional manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County. Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation. Regular and predictable onsite job attendance. Special Experience/Education A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required One (1) year of experience commensurate with the duties described above is preferred.
