Physical Therapist Assistant - Long-Term Care

Location: Potosi, Missouri

Start Date: 09-14-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts; flexible start time between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM, no weekends, no call

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $41 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, medically necessary rehabilitation treatment to patients with physical functioning disorders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and treatment plans
• Administer manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, ambulation training, modalities, and supportive devices
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments in collaboration with the supervising Physical Therapist
• Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system
• Educate and counsel patients, families, and caregivers on physical disorders and treatment plans
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and facility trainings
• Adhere to APTA standards, state practice acts, and professional code of conduct

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings
• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Missouri

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise and manual therapy techniques
• Strong patient assessment and progress evaluation abilities
• Proficient in clinical documentation and electronic health records
• Excellent patient education and communication skills
• Knowledge of rehabilitation practices and long-term care settings
• Understanding of APTA standards and state practice regulations
