A Brief Overview
Under the direct supervision of an RN, the Nursing Extern/Co-Op II participates in the delivery of nursing care to patients. This position exists within the content of a time-limited student experience. Works within the Clinical Nursing area in a support role, assisting nursing staff in the provision of care to pediatric patients and their families.

What you will do

• Under RN supervision, assists in the provision of care to patients and families. Follows Nursing Process to deliver safe care: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Responds promptly and positively to patients, families, associates, and all others in a respectful, courteous, and confidential manner.
• Follows hospital and departmental procedures and policies, including but not limited to patient safety, mandatory education, confidentiality, and attendance.
• Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and use monitoring equipment, under direct supervision of RN/Preceptor.
• Demonstrates high standards of professionalism by maintaining a professional image in all he/she does.
• Responsible for efficient and cost effective utilization of hospital resources.
• Identifies own learning needs and obtains necessary education to meet requirements of position.

Education Qualifications

• Technical Diploma Student at an established nursing program with a co-op requirement or Required
• Technical Diploma Currently enrolled in ACEN or CCNE program - Required or
• Technical Diploma A degree equivalency evaluation will be required for degrees obtained outside of the United States - Required

SALARY RANGE:

$1.00 - $18.00 Hourly

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
