Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:30 - 15:00) Experience: 2 years of experience required; travel experience preferred License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (can obtain after accepting) Must-Have: EKG testing must be passed before the start date; Must have 2 years of current operating room experience Description: Must be able to circulate and assist with total joint procedures. Experience with various surgical procedures is essential. Charting will be done using an electronic medical record system. Call is required on weeknights and weekends, approximately every 6 weeks. Holiday rotations are required. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. All requests for time off must be discussed with managers during the assignment. Candidates must provide proof of residency documents if offered a position. Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of the start date. Candidates should initiate renewals for any expiring certifications prior to submission. Specific surgical skills are essential for the role. The patient population will include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census typically ranges from 1 to 5 patients. There are special procedures conducted in the operating room, including laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various teams. Adherence to policies and protocols is mandatory for compliance and quality care.
