Job Description
Who We Are:
Marketlab is a market leading healthcare solutions organization specializing in the design, manufacturing, and sourcing of private label products. It’s our mission to provide our healthcare partners timely solutions with a straightforward approach based on knowing them and their work. Every day we strive to positively impact the lives of the people who in turn impact the health and wellness of our communities.
Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Marketlab’s success is built upon a foundation of collaboration, innovation, and the belief that every team member plays a vital role in creating an exceptional customer service experience.
The Opportunity:
The Clinical Solutions Specialist - Imaging partners cross-functionally to turn clinical, workflow, product, and industry expertise into business growth. This role serves as Marketlab’s primary Imaging subject-matter resource, helps customers identify the right solutions, advances strategic sales opportunities, and leads coordination of complex opportunities such as new hot lab buildouts.
This is an active, customer-facing role expected to make recommendations, uncover opportunities, and move business forward. The role travels up to 50% and reports to a Product Management leader, who retains responsibility for Imaging portfolio strategy and final business decisions. Administrative support handles routine tactical business needs so the Specialist can remain focused on customers, expertise, recommendations, and opportunity leadership.
Functional/Technical Competencies
Customer Focus and Consultative Selling: Partner with Sales to understand customer environments, workflows, constraints, expectations, and intended use after recommending solutions across Marketlab’s offering.
Imaging Product and Workflow Fluency: Serve as Marketlab’s internal expert on Imaging products, applications, workflows, terminology, and the practical differences that matter to customers.
Complex Opportunity Leadership: Build and drive clear plans for designated high-value or complex opportunities, including requirements, stakeholders, milestones, dependencies, risks, and customer expectations.
Commercial Judgment and Recommendations: Use customer, product, supplier, competitive, sales, margin, and market information to recommend actions that can improve revenue growth and commercial performance.
Supplier Partnership: Build productive relationships with current and prospective Imaging suppliers, understand their capabilities, and engage them appropriately in training, solution development, and customer opportunities.
Customer and Market Insight: Turn field observations, customer feedback, wins, losses, objections, supplier input, and competitive activity into clear recommendations for Product, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
Behavioral Competencies
Growth Orientation: Actively identify ways to increase the value, probability, or speed of customer opportunities rather than waiting to be asked for product support.
Cross-Functional Influence: Align Sales, Product, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, suppliers, and other stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
Ownership and Prioritization: Maintain momentum on complex opportunities, surface risks early, and focus time on work that materially affects customers and business results.
Clear Communication: Translate clinical, technical, product, and commercial information into practical guidance for customers and internal teams.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with Sales on strategic Imaging opportunities through discovery calls, customer visits, needs assessments, product evaluations, demonstrations, presentations, business reviews, and industry events.
Travel up to 50% to support customers, sales opportunities, suppliers, training, and relevant industry events.
Serve as the primary internal resource for Imaging product, workflow, application, competitive, and industry questions.
Lead the working team for designated large or complex opportunities, including new hot lab buildouts, from discovery through implementation handoff.
Establish requirements, responsibilities, milestones, dependencies, risks, and customer expectations, and coordinate internal stakeholders to keep opportunities moving.
Recommend customer solutions and product configurations based on clinical, technical, workflow, commercial, and operational fit.
Build productive relationships with current and prospective Imaging suppliers and develop a practical understanding of their portfolios, capabilities, differentiation, service models, and development pipelines.
Engage suppliers for technical expertise, training, demonstrations, product evaluations, and support on complex customer opportunities.
Identify and recommend potential products, suppliers, and partnership opportunities that address customer needs or expand Marketlab’s growth potential.
Capture recurring customer needs, objections, product issues, competitive insights, wins, and losses, and translate them into actionable recommendations.
Provide practical product education and consultative-selling support for internal teams and customers.
Partner with Marketing to improve product positioning, content, demonstrations, and selling tools.
Provide Product Management leadership with evidence-based recommendations on assortment gaps, product opportunities, supplier capabilities, training priorities, and commercial actions. Product Management leadership retains final portfolio and business decision authority.
Coordinate supplier participation in customer opportunities while ensuring Marketlab owns the customer relationship and internal teams confirm all commitments.
What You’ll Need:
The ideal candidate will have…
5+ years of meaningful medical Imaging experience across multiple modalities, product categories, customer settings, or workflows. Relevant experience may come from clinical practice, distribution, product management, sales, marketing, or supplier organizations.
Ability to speak credibly about Imaging needs and a broad product offering from a consultative-selling perspective.

Ability to evaluate supplier and product capabilities from customer, workflow, competitive, and operational perspectives.
Ability to translate clinical, technical, and product information into clear guidance for both expert and non-expert audiences.
Strong prioritization, problem-solving, and cross-functional influence.
