Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Per Diem, 3:00 PM - 3:30 AM Shift

The Registered Nurse (ED RN) is responsible for delivering safe patient care in the Emergency Department, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and leads patient/family teaching, ensuring the maintenance of standards of care. Additionally, the RN is directly accountable for the care provided to assigned patients and must effectively communicate any changes in patients' clinical conditions to the physician.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide direct patient care while supervising and guiding other nursing personnel.
• Communicate changes in patient conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring and abnormal diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient status and treatment responses.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Recent experience as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (at least 2 years).
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current status.
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) preferred; RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
• PALS certification within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients.
• NIHSS Certificate.
• NRP Certification.
