Description

Summary:


The delivery driver will work with other members of the distribution team to increase company profitability and customer satisfaction by delivering complete, accurate and on-time deliveries to the company's customers in MD, DC, VA and PA. Driver will represent the company in a highly professional, safe and cost-effective manner that complies with DOT and other applicable regulations.


1. Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers.

2. Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers' needs.

3. Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company.

4. Maintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements, and maintain required documents for safety, security and quality processes.

5. Maintain a safe driving record free of violations.

6. Follow company policies and procedures (including safety initiatives and guidelines).

7. Perform occasional warehouse duties.

8. Other duties as assigned.

9. Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received.

10. Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind.

11. Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.

Requirements

1. Prior experience driving Class B Trucks - MUST BE ABLE TO OPERATE MANUAL TRANSMISSION

2. Good Driving Record

3. Good Communication skills


4. Fork lift experience

5. Pallet Jack experience

6. Willingness to adapt and change when presented with new challenges

7. Ability to lift up to 75lbs.

8. Requires long periods of sitting.

9. Frequently ascends/descends from truck during deliveries.

Salary Description


22.00 per hour
