Emergency Room TechnicianThe primary role of the Emergency Room Technician (ERT) is to assist doctors, nurses and other medical personnel in providing the best quality emergency care possible to each and every patient. Duties may include taking and monitoring vital signs, collecting samples for laboratory analysis, providing supplies / instruments to clinical staff, assisting with safe movement of patients, and ensuring patient bed is ready for patient.Responsibilities:Clean and stock carts and rooms (changing linen as required)Decontaminate equipment, instruments and suppliesAssist with patient transfer to other unitsAssist with CPR/resuscitation and emergency airway proceduresAssist with obtaining and documenting vital signs, cardiac monitoring and non-invasive blood pressure monitoringAssist with wound care and dressingAssist in obtaining 12-lead EKG, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline lockAssist with positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints / slingsThe successful candidate will possess the following:One (1) year clinical experience as an Emergency Medical Technician, preferably in an emergency or urgent care environmentValid CA EMT Certification and BLS requiredMAB preferred – will be required to obtain after employmentExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills
