Structural Supervising Engineer

Job Summary Client is seeking an enthusiastic Structural Supervising Engineer with experience supporting Power Generation and Heavy Industrial Projects in either our Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices. Responsibilities include managing structural project activities from conception to construction, including supporting structural site work. The successful applicant can look forward to projects including simple and combined cycle power plants, nuclear projects, and plant retrofits throughout the United States that require all facets of structural engineering and design. Key Requirements Eight years of experience with structural engineering and design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Must have a PE license. Any new hire will be required to be within commuting distance of either the Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices. We are not interested in candidates who want to work remotely but would make a case‑by‑case determination based on the applicant. Direct hires are preferred, but we will consider contract staff. Minimum Requirements Bachelor of Science degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from a four‑year accredited college or university. Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in structural engineering and design. Minimum 3+ years in an engineering leadership position. Experience with industry standard engineering software such as STAAD Pro, Mathcad, etc. The successful candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of collaborating with multi‑discipline engineers and designers. Professional Engineering (PE) license in the US. Preferred Requirements M.S. in Civil (Structural) Engineering. Experience in seismic analysis and design of structures, systems, and components for nuclear power plants. Experience with ANSYS and Autodesk Advance Steel is a plus. Key Responsibilities Function as the structural discipline lead on a project. Act as the structural engineer of record for assigned projects, using your professional engineering license to sign and seal structural drawings developed under your supervision. Design for power plant and heavy industrial facilities. Coordinate an interdisciplinary team of engineers and designers to complete project tasks on schedule and on budget. Review relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support project development. Perform structural calculations, develop engineering reports, studies, specifications, and design drawings.
