CNC Machinist (Nakamura Lathe) - 2nd Shift

Overview CNC Machinist (Nakamura Lathe) - 2nd Shift Location : Jetstream, Houston, TX 77092, USA Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC Nakamura Lathe machines Analyze and interpret blueprints, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces Plan machine set ups, position work piece and operate various CNC machines through production runs to form specified quantities of parts to specified tolerances Deburr parts as needed Monitor machine functions to ensure parts are manufactured to defined specifications Perform first piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to machines to ensure parts are within designated tolerances Complete inspection reports as required and document critical quality information as necessary Perform preventative maintenance and ensure machines are operating optimally Communicate with managers, production control, quality and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve quality issues Act as subject matter expert and train co-workers as requested Document outstanding issues to ensure smooth transition between shifts Participate in continuous improvement of products and processes Maintain a neat and orderly work area complying with 5S initiatives Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements Perform other related duties as assigned Must be willing and able to work 2nd Shift (Hours: 3:30pm – 2:00am, Monday through Thursday) Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Certificate in Machining Technologies or equivalent experience 7+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe (required) Twin spindle experience (preferred) Ability to read and interpret blueprints/technical drawings Equal Opportunity The Company is an equal opportunity employer.
