Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45-07:15), 36 hours per week, 13-week contract available. Self-scheduling with 12 weekend shifts required per contract. Rotating float to step-down ICU when census is low.

Highlights:

• Medical Intensive Care Unit with 1:3 patient ratio (aide provided when caring for 4+ patients)
• Diverse case mix including DKA, active GI bleeds, stroke, respiratory failure, pneumonia, complicated surgical cases, CHF, and acute kidney injury
• Meditech EMR system with Pyxis medication management
• Advanced monitoring capabilities including continuous cardiac monitoring, pulse oximetry, temperature monitoring, and cameras in every room
• Comprehensive 24-hour orientation with hospital orientation during first week
• No on-call requirement; respiratory services and interdisciplinary support teams on-site

Requirements:

• Active RN license (NC or Compact State license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers considered but travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, Stroke Life Support
• Meditech charting system experience required
• Experience with 1:3 patient ratios required
• Core competencies: Medical ICU experience, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, port access and management, blood product administration, IV starts and maintenance, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVA/acute stroke management, ventilated patient care, high flow nasal cannula, pulmonary conditions, and infection prevention protocols
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Completion of 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules required (non-billable)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Interview required prior to offer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional skills including arterial line management, central line and PICC care, TPN/Lipids, continuous IV sedation, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, ABG interpretation, ventilator management, and phlebotomy
• Experience with acute and chronic renal failure management
• Community hospital experience preferred
