Construction Accounting & Union Payroll Specialist
Full-time | On-site | Southwest Twin Cities Metro


I’m working with a well-established mechanical contractor in the Twin Cities area that’s looking to bring on an experienced Accounting & Payroll Specialist to support their growing team. This company has built a strong reputation in the commercial and industrial HVAC, plumbing, and piping space-and they’re known for treating their people well.


This is a full-time, on-site role handling union payroll , accounts receivable and collections , and job cost accounting . The team is solid, the systems are in place, and they’re looking for someone who knows construction and can keep things running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

• Process weekly union payroll for field employees, ensuring compliance with union agreements.
  
  
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports as required.
  
  
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
  
  
• Assist with job costing and project-based accounting tasks.
  
  
• Collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  
  
• Support monthly financial reporting and assist with month-end close processes.
  
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction accounting, preferably within the mechanical contracting industry.
  
  
• Familiarity with union payroll processing and certified payroll requirements.
  
  
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Viewpoint, or Foundation.
  
  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
