Production Planner I

Job Summary The Production Planner is responsible for the operations, planning and scheduling from receipt of order through fulfillment. Job Description This position is also responsible for creating, controlling and maintaining the Master Production Schedule and Production Floor Schedule in support of the Sales Demand, Forecast, Material, Capacity, Company Objectives, and Manufacturing Strategy while minimizing inventory investment. Essential Responsibilities Help maintain Master Production Schedule (MPS) in accordance with jointly developed monthly plans and management direction. Effectively release and maintain work orders in support of monthly plans and production schedule. Question, verify, and approve the feasibility of schedule additions and changes within the planning horizon by reviewing MRP requirements with purchasing, updating/managing the work orders with production, and updating MPS. Develop and maintain Recovery Schedules as required to meet customer demand and internal recovery to plan. Coordinate Planning and Production plans with Purchasing, Production and Product Teams to ensure all resources are available to support the plan. Support new product development teams with inventory phase out/in plans and effectively launch new products and End of Life products, minimizing obsolescence. Support inventory control team with periodic cycle counts.
