Maintenance TechnicianGilman Cheese is hiring a Maintenance Technician (1st Shift) and a Maintenance Technician (Split Shift)! Minimum pay rate of $24-$26/hour depending on experience and shift.1st Shift schedule is Monday through Thursday 5am-3:30pm and Friday mornings.Split Shift schedule is Monday through Thursday 10am-9pm and some Fridays. No weekends!The maintenance team is responsible for ensuring that Gilman Cheese facilities are in good operating condition while following all safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.New hires are eligible for a $500 bonus after (3) months of employment, and second $500 bonus after (6) months of employment!Duties/Responsibilities:Assist with the implementation and execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program for Gilman Cheese CorporationDevelop a working knowledge of building facilities, all equipment, and machinesHelp diagnose problems when equipment repairs are required; contact appropriate vendors if neededMaintain and clean maintenance shop and tools used in repairing production equipmentFollow all established safety protocols and work with safety coordinator to implement safety improvementsFollow and comply with applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and additional quality assurance policiesTools Used:Hand tools, leaf blower, snow blower, related equipmentEducation and Experience:A minimum of six (6) months of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. Electromechanical and food manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred.Skills Required:Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and math skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize independentlyAbility to collaborate with team membersMechanically inclined mindsetPhysical Requirements:The position involves: continuous standing and walking, occasional sitting and bending, seldom crouching, kneeling, and climbing.
