TEMPORARY Intake Counselor (12 week assignment)

Description TEMPORARY/FULL TIME (12 WEEKS) REGISTERED COUNSELOR OPPORTUNITY- CA COUNSELOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OFFERING SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS ENROLLED IN MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT FOR OPIOID USE DISORDER. UTILIZING EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES AND A TRAUMA-INFORMED APPROACH, THE COUNSELOR WILL HELP PATIENTS DEVELOP INDIVIDUALIZED COPING TECHNIQUES AND SYMPTOM MANAGEMENT SKILLS THAT ENABLE THEN TO EXPERIENCE IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE. THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH DOCTORS, NURSES AND A MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM, THE COUNSELOR WILL PLAY A VITAL ROLE IN EVALUATING PATIENT PROGRESS AND DEVELOPING AN INDIVIDUALIZED PLAN OF CARE. Responsibilities Provide individual and group counseling services; direct service at regularly scheduled intervals based on patient need, best practices and state regulations; coordinate all services throughout treatment. Conducts initial assessment and evaluation to determine eligibility for services. Complete Bio-psychosocial assessment. Establish individualized treatment plan with each patient and review as clinically indicated. Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints. Develop aftercare and discharge plans. Other related duties as determined by supervisor. Qualifications Registered Counselor in the State of California. Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals a plus. Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population. Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check. Salary Range Salary ranges from $24.06 to $25.06 an hour. The salary of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training.
