Qualifications Knowledge of San Francisco’s public schools and a belief in the district’s commitment to instructional leadership Strong analytics and systems thinking to interpret data and build infrastructure Ability to work effectively across multiple functions and roles within a complex organization Proven record of planning, organizing, and using resources to achieve goals Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑paced environment Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail “Can do” work ethic with a focus on solutions and a big‑picture lens Excellent data analysis skills and experience synthesizing data to drive action steps Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with senior district staff and colleagues Effective written and verbal communication skills, able to explain complex processes to diverse audiences Ability to define and implement effective HR business practices Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters effectively Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and GSuite Essential Duties Pre‑Referral Intervention Consult with school staff to develop optimal learning environments Consult with school‑site student support teams on learning strategies, interventions, and accommodations Assist in developing behavior and classroom management interventions and plans Consult with parents and teachers regarding learning and behavior interventions, aligning home support with school‑based goals Provide professional development for staff and parents on educational disabilities, referrals, behavioral interventions, and instructional accommodations Collaborate with student support professionals to support student progress Assessment Communicate and provide follow‑up to staff and families regarding referrals within IDEA timelines Use a variety of assessment tools based on referral reasons and student needs Gather and analyze comprehensive assessment data to determine special education eligibility Conduct functional behavior assessments and lead behavior intervention plan development Complete all assessments within IDEA timelines Present evaluation results at IEP team meetings Make recommendations to the IEP team based on assessment findings Ensure assessment results are accessible to parents and clear about strengths and needs Consider all suspected disabilities and gather sufficient data to rule in or out eligibility, accounting for linguistic, cultural, and other factors Provide social‑emotional and behavior‑based direct services to students with special education eligibility Write social‑emotional and/or behavior‑based IEP goals and provide continuous monitoring and updates Participate in IEP and manifestation determination meetings as needed Additional Expectations Keep current in the profession through professional development and dialogue with peers Know all federal regulations and state laws related to the field (e.g., timelines, assessment requirements, IEP meeting documentation) Assist with referrals to community agencies as appropriate Attend all monthly staff and central office meetings as required Maintain confidentiality of student records, reports, notes, and testing situations Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications All candidates must hold or be pursuing a valid Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Psychology, anticipated to be cleared by the time of employment.
