Integrate transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and other omics data to contextualize metabolic models and investigate complex biological questions. Interpret modeling and multi-omics results to identify biological mechanisms, generate hypotheses, and guide research direction. Provide technical expertise and mentorship to students, research staff, postdoctoral researchers, and collaborators. Contribute to manuscripts, grant proposals, research presentations, and professional conferences. Within the UNL system, this position is categorized an a M/P Temp Worker. See Minimum Required Qualifications PhD in computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, biological engineering, biophysics, mathematics, or related field plus two (2) years of post-degree experience in computational systems modeling, simulation, and analytics; OR Master’s degree in computational biology, systems biology, bioinformatics, biological engineering, biophysics, or related field plus four (4) years of post-degree experience in computational systems modeling, simulation, and analytics. Experience in metabolic model construction, simulations and analyses (e.g. FBA , dFBA, etc); AND Experience with analyzing multi-omics data (e.g., single cell and/or spatial transcriptomics, metabolomics, etc), computational biology, disease biomarkers, immune profiling is required Advanced computational and programming competence (e.g. Python, MATLAB , or R) is required. Advanced data collection, interpretation, and report writing skills are required. Material experience using LLM for automation and rapid workflow development. Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred, but not required: Experience with clinical-level drug development processes is preferred. Experiencing working with software developers is preferred.
