Production Planner

Production Planner | Newark, CA | $80,000 – $100,000/year | Full‑Time, Direct Hire | Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Job Summary We are looking for a Production Planner to lead end‑to‑end production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within a high‑mix manufacturing environment. Your focus will be translating customer demand into executable capacity plans while balancing service levels and operational constraints. Working cross‑functionally, you will drive operational stability, inventory optimization, and Lean‑driven continuous improvements. Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly master production schedules. Balance capacity, labor, equipment, and material constraints and manage bottlenecks. Translate demand/forecasts into executable plans while balancing capacity, labor, equipment, and material constraints. Analyze data for make‑vs‑buy decisions, overtime needs, and capacity expansion. Optimize raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory to align with cash targets. Identify and manage bottlenecks and load‑leveling opportunities. Partner with Procurement to manage supplier lead times and supply risks. Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and ensure compliance with quality/safety standards. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Sales, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and Logistics. Prepare and present risks, trade‑offs, and strategic recommendations to senior management. Qualifications 5+ years of production planning/scheduling or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment (high‑mix preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced Excel. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement concepts. APICS / CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus. Exceptional communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills; ability to present complex data to leadership.
