Education and Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Licensed to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Florida. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Health Care Providers. Position Summary The Physical Therapist is responsible for providing a full range of therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions, in a team environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The therapist demonstrates accountability for and contributes to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashion. Implements high‑quality therapy services for patients with minimal supervision, in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy. Develops treatment plans, supervises assistants and aides, contributes to case management, and provides quality patient care. Maintains a positive level of interaction with patients and co‑workers. Performs other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Perform prolonged standing or sitting for 2 hours or more per day. Grip a dynamometer with a force of 10 lbs for 10 seconds; pinch with a force of 2 lbs for 10 seconds. Reach overhead frequently, raising the shoulder 45 degrees while holding a 10‑lb weight for 10 seconds. Shirk the shoulders for 10 seconds with a 10‑lb weight in both hands. Rotate the hand from left to right and right to left while holding a 10‑lb weight for 10 seconds. Fully flex and extend the elbow while holding a 10‑lb weight. Reach forward 16–17 inches from the body. Bend the torso forward more than 20 degrees and twist sideways. Squat for 30 seconds. Lift 50 lbs (male) or 35 lbs (female) from knee height to waist level. Push/pull 40 lbs from a standstill. Be able to stand and walk intermittently for 4 hours or more per day (in‑patient/sub‑acute rehab staff). Flex the back > 20 degrees and hold for 10 seconds; extend the back and hold for 10 seconds; laterally bend the back and hold for 10 seconds; twist the trunk and hold for 10 seconds. Kneel on either left or right knee. Carry a 20‑lb weight over a distance of 25 ft. Threshold Requirements Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in‑service and health requirements, including attendance at new employee orientation. TB/PPD Surveillance Program.
