Commercial Litigation Attorney - Chicago Loop (Hybrid)

About the Position:
We have been exclusively engaged by a dynamic Chicago-based professional liability company that is seeking a litigation partner or in-house equivalent (8 or more years of litigation experience) to join as a Senior Claims Counsel in its sophisticated legal group. The ideal candidate for this exciting in-house opportunity will be a partner at a top large law firm or will have an equivalent in-house litigation role. Responsibilities:
· Work with outside counsel on all aspects of defending claims against member firms brought under the company’s professional liability, employment practices liability, and management liability policies
· Study claims histories and conduct analysis for recovery potential on claims against member firms
· Provide legal analysis, research, and guidance on legal questions and issues
· Stay abreast of legal and insurance-related regulatory developments and counsel management regarding impacts and changes
· Train staff on regulatory and compliance procedures
· Evaluate and monitor matters reported under company policies for reserve determinations
· Assist with evaluation of potential new member firms as well as periodic reviews of their claims history
· Present at national conferences and annual meetings
· Travel (a few days per month) required
Required Qualifications:
· 8 or more years of experience as a litigation partner at a sophisticated law firm or in-house equivalent
· Strong client relationship and communication skills

Compensation:
The anticipated salary for this position is $325,000.
