Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Pay Range: $21.00hr - $22.00hr


Job Overview:


Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations, which may include skilled hand work or utilizing automated production equipment. Comprehends and interprets a variety of technical specifications, terms, and documents. Determines and follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and flex cable harnessing on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications. Wears personal protective equipment (safety glasses/gloves) and completes assembly of components according to work instructions. Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer skills are required.


Work Environment:


Production floor setting, seated at an assembly bench using small tools, magnifiers/microscopes, and utilizing computers.

• Soldering Certification.

Overall Summary:


Developing support individual contributor working under general supervision. Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures. Identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations.


Nature of Supervision:


Works under general supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and moderate peer review is required.

Communicates with contacts typically within the department on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to understand and reach agreement.

Education & Experience:


Requires developing job knowledge and skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years of prior relevant experience, or a 2-year post-secondary/Associate Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
