Role Description This full‑time, on‑site Pharmacist role is based in South Dakota, United States. The Pharmacist will review and verify medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and PharMerica policies. Daily responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medications, providing clinical consultation to healthcare providers and care teams, and supporting medication management for long‑term care residents and other patients served by the pharmacy. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, participating in quality assurance and medication safety initiatives, and collaborating with pharmacy technicians and other staff to ensure efficient, patient‑centered service. The Pharmacist may assist with training team members, implementing clinical programs, and contributing to process improvements that enhance overall care and operational performance. Qualifications Licensed Pharmacist (PharmD or BS in Pharmacy) in good standing, with eligibility for licensure in South Dakota; prior experience in institutional, long‑term care, or hospital pharmacy is preferred. Strong clinical pharmacy skills, including medication therapy management, drug utilization review, and knowledge of geriatric pharmacotherapy and chronic disease management. Proficiency with pharmacy information systems, electronic health records, and medication dispensing technologies, along with solid computer and documentation skills. Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations, controlled substance handling, and best practices for medication safety and quality assurance. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with healthcare providers, nursing staff, and patients in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accuracy under time constraints, and uphold high standards of ethics, confidentiality, and professional judgment. Willingness to work required shifts, and to participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
