Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations
• Prepare specimens for lab testing following established procedures
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure accurate labeling of specimens in the presence of the patient
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of procedures and specimen collection
• Create a professional and reassuring environment for patients, explaining procedures clearly and confidently
• Perform specimen collection and processing duties with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and process excellence
• Operate independently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of daily tasks
• Travel to multiple locations as needed, including patient service centers and in-office phlebotomy sites

Required Skills

• Proven proficiency in phlebotomy, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws and capillary collections
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a high-volume environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver license with a clean driving record (if applicable)
• Keyboard and data entry skills for documentation purposes

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
• Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly preferred
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed
• Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment
• Travel required to multiple locations with flexible hours to meet staffing needs
