Behavioral Health Therapist

Behavioral Health Therapist Department of Psychiatry – University of Texas, Dell Medical School (DMS). The role is part of the Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT) program, providing telemedicine services to children and adolescents in school districts. Overview The Behavioral Health Therapist will conduct assessments, create individualized treatment plans, provide counseling, and coordinate care as a member of an interdisciplinary team to support TCHATT patients, guardians, and schools. Responsibilities Evaluate patients and provide diagnostic impressions. Formulate and implement treatment plans based on evidence‑based practices and protocol. Conduct individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions as needed. Monitor patients for suicidal or homicidal intent and ensure safety, including crisis intervention. Participate in supervision, feedback, and quality assurance, and maintain client records. Coordinate with referring practitioners, family members, and project staff throughout treatment. Attend training workshops, meetings, and staffing sessions as required. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Licensed as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent Texas practitioner. At least three (3) years of professional work experience. Experience working with children, adolescents, and/or family systems. Strong technology skills, including independent use of electronic health record systems. Relevant education and experience may be considered as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish. Proficiency with at least one electronic medical records system, e.g., Athena. Readiness to adopt new techniques and practices as directed by clinical leadership. Salary $68,000 plus additional compensation dependent on qualifications. Working Conditions Standard office environment with occasional weekends, evenings, and overtime. Potential interstate, intrastate, and international travel. Initial remote work with escalation to on-site work as determined by the supervisor.
