Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Location: Rock Valley, IA Duration: 24 months with possible extension Key Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical equipment failures and perform troubleshooting, repairs, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and mechanical systems. Dismantle, inspect, overhaul, adjust, and repair machines, machine tools, and mechanical equipment requiring precise alignment and fitting. Rebuild and restore machinery to original manufacturer tolerances, including redesigning, realigning, and fabricating replacement or custom components as required. Conduct equipment inspections and condition assessments, documenting findings and recommending major repairs to support preventive maintenance planning. Plan and organize work assignments, obtaining necessary tools, materials, and equipment to complete maintenance tasks efficiently. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, manufacturer manuals, sketches, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic diagrams. Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, grinders, drill presses, planers, and shapers to manufacture or modify components to close tolerances. Rebuild equipment by replacing worn or damaged parts, scraping, fitting, and aligning components to maintain original equipment performance. Install, align, and adjust gears, shafts, bearings, pulleys, motors, wheels, and other mechanical assemblies. Perform field inspections and make necessary adjustments, repairs, and alignment corrections on installed equipment. Lubricate, clean, and maintain machinery following repair or rebuild activities. Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while adhering to company safety standards and procedures. Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems up to 240V/480V, using electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic prints to identify faults and restore equipment operation.
