Security Officer Duties

Monitors security communications systems such as closed-circuit television (CCTV); intrusion detection's system (IDS); and telephone/radio systems.

Recommends to the supervisor and director, changes in the organization of work or assignment of functions in order to improve work flow and service coverage, promote job satisfactions, and increase productivity.

Serves as police officer on installation with conventional ammunition, supply and maintenance mission, and general supply mission.

Patrols assigned areas on depot to detect, apprehend, arrest or cite offenders of federal or state laws or violation of a regulation.

Conducts security patrols in industrial and storage areas to enforce security regulations, plans, and policies.

Dispatches police, fire and emergency units to scenes of crimes, accidents and natural disasters.
