Canvasser / Appointment Setter

Capital Trimlight Austin is hiring two to three part-time neighborhood canvassers and appointment setters.

This is an in-person, door-to-door position serving residential neighborhoods throughout the Austin area.

This is a commissions performance-based independent-contractor opportunity. It does not include a guaranteed hourly wage. Compensation is $50 per qualified completed appointment plus $200 when that appointment results in an installed and paid sale.

About the Position

Capital Trimlight Austin installs permanent exterior lighting that homeowners can use year-round for Christmas, architectural lighting, security, game days, birthdays and other special occasions.

Your job is not to measure homes, prepare estimates or close sales. Your responsibility is to introduce the product to homeowners and schedule qualified appointments for our sales team.

Compensation

• $50 for every qualified appointment that is completed
• Additional $200 when your appointment results in an installed and paid sale
• Paid weekly
• Additional production bonuses may be available
• No cap on earnings

Examples

• Five completed appointments and one resulting sale = $450
• Ten completed appointments and two resulting sales = $900
• Fifteen completed appointments and three resulting sales = $1,350

These are examples, not guaranteed earnings. Actual income depends on the number and quality of appointments generated and the number of resulting installed sales.

A qualified completed appointment means:

• The prospect owns the home
• The homeowner has expressed genuine interest in receiving an estimate
• The appropriate decision-maker is available
• The homeowner has provided accurate contact information
• The homeowner completes the scheduled consultation with our sales representative

Schedule

This can be an excellent opportunity for a college student, someone with another daytime job or anyone looking for flexible part-time income.

The best canvassing hours are generally:

• Weekdays between approximately 2:00 and 8:00 p.m.
• Saturdays
• Approximately 15–25 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Canvass designated residential neighborhoods
• Start friendly conversations with homeowners
• Explain the basic benefits of permanent exterior lighting
• Show homeowners photos and videos of completed installations
• Identify interested homeowners
• Schedule qualified appointments for the sales team
• Enter complete and accurate appointment information
• Represent Capital Trimlight Austin professionally

Qualifications

• Comfortable approaching and speaking with homeowners
• Friendly, confident and professional
• Dependable and consistent
• Able to walk residential neighborhoods for several hours
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone with dependable service
• Available during afternoons, evenings and/or Saturdays
• Able to accurately record appointment and customer information

Previous door-to-door, canvassing, retail, restaurant, fundraising or customer-service experience is helpful but not required. We can train the right person, but you must be willing to approach homeowners and initiate conversations.
