You must apply by 11:59 PM prior to the posted closing date.Position serves as an entry level Engineer in the Beryl Road Resident Engineer’s Office. Position will assist with administering highway construction contracts for all types of construction projects. Applicants should have knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering with the ability to learn highway construction methods, techniques, standards and specifications, and operating of field and office engineering instruments. This position leads and coordinates reviews of technical plans and drawings. This position may be required to work nights and weekends as needed for emergency and planned operations in all types of weather conditions and on uneven surfaces and slopes.The selected applicant for this position must possess the following:Ability to plan, organize, and schedule daily tasks. Ability to make independent decisions and the willingness to work collaboratively towards group decisions. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with co-workers, departmental personnel, contractors, developers, local and state officials, and the public. Ability to prioritize and delegate project assignments. Ability to interpret plans, provisions, specifications, policies, procedures and regulations and apply this information in reviewing construction drawings.Selected applicant must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle.
