Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery - Full Time - Nights

Onancock, Virginia. Up to $7K bonus for eligible candidates. Overview Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the Director, and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of total nursing care of assigned patients. The RN may work in a variety of settings within the Critical Care/Telemetry Complex and other roles within Riverside Health System. The RN utilizes communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision‑making to create a care plan for each patient based on physiological, psychosocial, and cultural diversity. Responsible for supervising and delegating non‑professional personnel working directly with the RN to ensure optimum patient care. Must demonstrate competence in meeting the age‑related needs of the specific patient populations served in the Critical Care/Telemetry units. What you will do Demonstrate ability to assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs, applying standards of practice relative to the specialty or patient population served. Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care, treatments, and procedures that contribute to physiological and psychosocial outcomes. Assess and incorporate evidence‑based standards of practice. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care. Facilitate safe patient transitions to the next care setting as part of the plan of care. Maintain a sense of urgency to facilitate patient throughput, ensuring consistent, competent, and ethical care. Focus on quality outcomes of patient care, addressing customer needs, and incorporating current evidence‑based practice and quality measures. Demonstrate understanding of diverse patient populations and adapt education methods to ensure patient/family comprehension. Educate patients, families, and caregivers, individualizing and coordinating discharge‑specific education. Evaluate patient comprehension and document findings. Accurately complete all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards and regulatory requirements. Delegate and prioritize tasks to facilitate quality patient care and meet care‑plan requirements. Recognize and respond to emergency situations. Assess personal support needs and use identified systems to meet those needs. Qualifications Education: RN degree (Required) Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred) Experience: Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery / Perioperative Services (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) – State Department of Health Professions (Required) CPR/BLS Certification from American Heart Association/ American Red Cross (Required) Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) – American Academy of Pediatrics (Required within 180 days of hire) For more information about the position, visit #J-18808-Ljbffr
