Job Title: Welder Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for welders to join a growing manufacturing operation on 2nd shift, performing MIG welding in a clean, relaxed production environment. You will complete a weld test and brief interview as part of a streamlined hiring process and then contribute to producing quality welded components while having room to grow and develop your skills.

• Perform MIG welding on production parts, following established procedures and quality standards.
• Complete flat, uphill, and downhill welds as required by the weld test and ongoing production work.
• Interpret and follow blueprints and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication of components.
• Prepare materials and workpieces for welding, including positioning, aligning, and securing parts.
• Inspect welded joints for quality, strength, and appearance, and make adjustments as needed.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a safe work area, using appropriate protective equipment.
• Collaborate with the foreman and team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Participate in the weld test and short interview process scheduled during regular 2nd shift hours.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations in clean and orderly condition.
• Support training efforts and be open to learning new techniques and processes as needed.

• Experience with MIG welding in a production or training environment.
• Ability to perform flat, uphill, and downhill welds to meet quality standards.
• Basic blueprint reading skills to follow fabrication and welding requirements.
• Familiarity with flux core welding processes.
• Completion of TCAT or equivalent welding training program is acceptable in place of extensive experience.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Willingness and availability to work 2nd shift, typically 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

• TCAT welding education or similar vocational training in welding.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled production environment.
• Ability to learn and improve welding skills with on-the-job training.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Reliability in attending scheduled weld tests and shift hours.
• Good communication skills to interact with the foreman and team members.

The role is based in a clean, relaxed production facility that is non-climate controlled. Work is performed on 2nd shift, typically from 2:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. Welding tests are scheduled during the afternoon, with flexibility around the foreman’s break time to accommodate candidates. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and steady workflow, with standard welding tools and equipment used throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oak Ridge, TN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Oak Ridge,TN.
