Job Description

A growing defense firm with a strong reputation in litigation is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its Mandeville LA office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience or a strong background in medical-related issues. This position offers the opportunity for rapid professional growth, regular client contact.

Key Responsibilities

Research and analyze complex legal issues related to workers’ compensation matters.
Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and detailed reports
Conduct depositions, site inspections, and witness preparation.
Appear in court, argue motions, and participate in mediations.
Manage all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and trial work.
Collaborate with clients, adjusters, employers, and experts throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
Travel as needed, primarily within the State of Louisiana

Qualifications

3-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience
Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Must be licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana (would be an added plus to be licensed in both Louisiana and Mississippi)
Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
Appellate experience is a plus.
Excellent client communication and interpersonal abilities
