The Fiscal Services Division of the Kansas State Treasurer’s Office operates as the state’s bank, managing the receipt and disbursement of state funds. The office provides trustee services for various state programs and bond issues, ensuring funds are properly administered and accurately accounted for. The division also oversees the collateralization of public deposits, maintains compliance with the state monies law, and safeguards public resources to support the efficient operation of Kansas government. Key Responsibilities Bond Processing: process redemptions on internal systems, prepare notices to account holders, and manage secure vault inventory and records Accounting Services: monitor account balances, prepare notification of payments due to account holders, and send monthly statements to municipalities with account activity Customer Support: provide exceptional customer service to municipalities and account holders regarding status information or knowledge of processes related to accounts Cross-Training & Support: train with other fiscal services staff members to ensure continuity of operations in the event of an absence and to allow for opportunities for advancement Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum Qualifications: One year work experience in a professional office environment Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the banking, accounting, and/or the bond industry Special knowledge, skills and abilities: Must possess outstanding computer, communications, and interpersonal skills as well as knowledge of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products. Detail-oriented and willing to take initiative, identify issues, gather information, and seek solutions. Must have a desire to work as part of a team, to establish productive working relationships, and achieve the desired objectives. Ability to accomplish accurate work with minimal assistance or supervision within established productivity standards, deadlines, and work schedules.
