Mental Health Clinician Professional Expert- Licensed Professionals

Mt. San Antonio College is seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Professional Expert Mental Health Clinician to provide mental health services to a diverse student population. The clinician will offer short-term counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and outreach services to promote student well-being and academic success. This position requires a strong commitment to equity, cultural humility, and healing centered engagement, ensuring that students of all backgrounds feel supported in their mental health journey.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist) in California.
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience, preferably in a higher education, or community mental health.
  • Demonstrated experience providing mental health support, including an understanding of intersectionality, gender identity, and minority stress.
  • Strong knowledge of healing centered engagement, culturally responsive, and gender-affirming care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professional ethics, and adherence to legal guidelines in mental health practice.
  • Knowledge of Title IX, FERPA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations affecting college students.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Services:
    • Provide short-term, solution-focused individual and group counseling to students experiencing mental health challenges.
    • Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide appropriate interventions tailored to the needs of a diverse student population.
    • Offer crisis intervention and risk assessment, including suicide prevention and safety planning.
    • Refer students to community resources and coordinate care with off-campus providers when necessary.
    • Work closely with campus departments, such as the PRIDE Center, ACCESS, Basic Needs and Student Health Services, to provide holistic support.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with legal, ethical, and professional standards.
    • Stay informed about current best practices, policies, and research related to mental health care.
  • Outreach & Training:
    • Develop and facilitate workshops, psychoeducational groups, and presentations on mental health topics relevant to a diverse student population.
    • Collaborate with student organizations, faculty, and staff to promote mental health awareness and resources.
    • Provide consultation and training to faculty and staff on best practices for supporting diverse students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a community college setting or with young adults/emerging adults.
  • Bilingual (Spanish, ASL, or other language relevant to the student population).
  • Experience facilitating group therapy or peer support groups.

License(s) & Other Requirements:

  • Active and unrestricted licensure (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist) in California.
