Kitchen Mechanic

Join our team as a Kitchen Mechanic and help us maintain the highest standards of quality and safety in our kitchens. As a Kitchen Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing commercial appliances such as ovens, fryers, grills, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, mixers, and ice machines.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing electrical, gas, plumbing, and mechanical problems in kitchen equipment
- Performing preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns
- Replacing worn or defective parts
- Inspecting equipment for safety and code compliance
- Reading technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Testing equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation
- Maintaining service records and repair logs
- Responding to emergency repair calls quickly
- Installing new kitchen equipment and appliances
- Working with maintenance teams, chefs, and facility managers
- Following workplace safety procedures and handling tools properly
Skills commonly required:
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Familiarity with refrigeration and HVAC systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Physical stamina for lifting and standing
- Time-management and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Experience of 2-5 years preferred in hotel, resort, commercial or institutional maintenance environment.
- HVAC or plumbing or electrical skills.
- Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper.
- Certification in pool operation preferred.
- Meet minimum age requirements of jurisdiction.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Preventive maintenance background preferred.
- Read, write and understand English.
