Automation Engineer II (Manufacturing)

Must have proven ability to prioritize, plan and execute multiple projects independently.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with other engineers and manufacturing/assembly personnel to ensure design intent and cost effectiveness of production are achieved.Design and plan electrical systems, including power, communications, and data.Create project plans to organize and direct project activities.Establish equipment specifications and requirements.Develop appropriate documentation including wiring schematics, bills of material, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides for newly established automated equipment/processes.Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate project deliverables.Collaborate with New Product Development engineering to ensure new product designs meet DFM/DFA guidelines.Manage the Validation / Verification Process for new equipment release.Create operation manuals, training documentation, spare part lists, and troubleshooting guides for newly established automated equipment/processes.Support maintenance with diagnostic, troubleshooting and repairs of automated manufacturing systems.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering, Automation Engineering or related field.Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience working with automated assembly equipment and systems.Minimum 2 years hands on experience with instrumentation and controls equipment including PLCs, HMIs, and networking equipment.Keyence vision system programming experience preferred.Yushin robot programming experience a plus.SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong solid modeling skills utilizing SolidWorksFamiliar with programming of PLC’s, Beckhoff preferred.Designing and development of HMI systemsFamiliar with pneumatics and servo actuators/controlsStrong electromechanical skill set.Strong problem-solving skills, hands on individual with the ability to multitask.Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels of personnel.Strong Knowledge of Microsoft office products including Project, and ExcelWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDSManufacturing/Office environment.
