About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred License: Active Maryland or Compact License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Experience with Epic charting system required. Community hospital experience required. Description: Specialty: MS/Tele RN. Contract length of 13 weeks. Shifts are 3x12-Hour days (08:00 - 20:30). Average daily census is 18 with a total of 24 beds. Patient Ratio is 1:5. Patient age range includes adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include general med-surg tele patients, TIA, respiratory issues such as COPD, urology, gynecological issues, cellulitis, wound care, palliative care, infectious processes, gastrointestinal issues, and early recovery after surgery. Unit specializes in observation greater than 24 hours and TR bands following cardiac catheterizations with no intervention. Major equipment used includes telemetry devices. Holidays are required as they occur, as scheduled. Weekends are required every other weekend. Floating to other units and facilities within the scope is necessary. No on-call requirement. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation. Skills required include blood product administration, central line care and management, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, management of peripheral intravenous lines, and wound care/wound vacuum therapy.
