Xamarin Mobile Automation Test Engineer

Responsible for documenting and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality products. Involved in test planning, writing manual and automated test cases/scripts and test execution. Responsible for analyzing manual and automated test scenario results. Involved in projects of moderate to high complexity within one or more development environments. Involved in multiple programs/systems as a project team member. Considered a subject matter expert for a single program/system.

Major duties and responsibilities include actively and consistently supporting all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience, defining and tracking quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status, actively and independently acquiring and analyzing data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrating them into business processes to address the business needs, performing both back end system and front end UI triage and troubleshooting when identifying defects, determining manual test cases that are candidates for automation, scripting test scenarios using Xamarin automation tools, delivering quality process training to technical staff and acting as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners, performing quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed, ensuring alignment between business operational strategies and quality assurance of our products, diagnosing complex issues, evaluating, recommending and executing the best resolution, and developing, modifying, enhancing and implementing test plans designed to support new or existing business initiatives.

Required qualifications include proficiency using Visual Studio for Xamarin Testing, proficiency in test tools (HPQC, TestRail, etc.), experience testing iOS and Android mobile applications on phones and tablets, experience in C# language and Page Object Model concept, experience with Continuous Integration – Jenkins/GitLab is a plus, experience in Cloud based testing for Mobile applications is a plus, excellent communicator (written and verbal): ability to read, write, speak and understand English, ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables, self starter, self motivated, driven individual, ability to work well with shifting priorities, ability to work with cross-functional team of internal and external resources, ability to balance between manual and automated testing, display professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion, critical thinker, ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and maintain positive attitude, ability to track multiple test efforts simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results in fast paced environment, experience working in an Agile Scrum team environment, ability to translate technical requirements into test plans, excellent understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), excellent understanding of test automation framework and tools, proficient in using Xamarin Studio testing automation framework, understanding of database schemas and querying tools, and excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Education: BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.

Related work experience: 2-5 years system testing w/ a focus on automation, 1-2 years of experience testing mobile (iOS & Android) applications, 1-3 years of experience scripting automation tests with Xamarin Studio.
