Retail CashierBreckenridge, Minnesota RetailGeneral SummaryThe cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesRegister OperationsOperate computer point-of-sale system and handle cash/credit/check transactions with accuracy and integrityFollow all cash register transaction proceduresResponsible for balancing of register drawerFront End Appearance and UpkeepKeep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors, neat and cleanFace and clean merchandise and fixtures throughout the storeCustomer Service and Store OperationsProject a positive representation of yourself and Farm City SupplyGreet and assist customers entering and throughout the storeAssist customers at the register and throughout the store with finding products and answering questionsThank customers when they are leaving the storeProject a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as coworkersClear customer checkout lines quickly and efficientlyAssist customers with loading purchases as neededAnswer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectivelyCommunicate any problem or issue that requires management assistanceContinually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product locationReceive new merchandise and place on shelvesSetup new displays and arrange displays and plan-o-grams as seasons changeOperate key-cutting machine and paint-matching and tinting equipment (training will be provided)Assemble merchandise as needed for displaysParticipate in any store meetings and activitiesPerform all other duties as assignedPosition RequirementsStanding, walking, lifting (up to 40 lbs) and climbing (on step ladder)Dependable - at work on time and ready to workAttentive - pays attention to detailsCustomer service oriented - friendly attitude, listens to customers, problem-solverEagerness to learn - listens to directions and learns from experienceComputer skills - willing to learn new programs and proceduresAccurate - works efficiently and carefully to complete tasksSchedule Requirements4-8 hour shifts per dayAlternating SaturdaysDay-time hoursNo SundaysCompany IntroductionWe are your local farm supply and hardware store.
