Calibration Technician - Level 2

The Calibration Technician - Level 2 will perform calibrations and repair high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation. There will be limited overnight travel. Responsibilities Perform calibrations on high level and unique test and measurement instrumentation at customer locations (on-site) and in the Pleasanton calibration laboratory. Use your troubleshooting, repair, and calibration knowledge to work on unique equipment Interface directly with customers to determine needs relating to traceability, adequacy of standards and test procedures utilized by Trescal, as well as for items requiring repair or limited calibration Ensure that preventative maintenance of the laboratory's equipment is performed in a timely and acceptable manner, Performing daily inspections of the incoming equipment to verify: accessories and manuals are available, malfunctions of customer instrumentation, and to change equipment status when appropriate. Create and verify calibration data sheets for technical content and accuracy based upon instrument specifications and approved calibration procedures Occasional overnight travel may be required Adhere to all company policies and procedures All other duties as assigned Requirements Military training or experience, an Associates Degree in Electronics (or related technical field), or equivalent work experience & training Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience calibrating test & measurement equipment (in a commercial or military calibration lab preferred) Experienced in some or all of test and measurement equipment used in conjunction with the repair and calibration of electronic, mechanical, chemical, thermal and/or dimensional devices Experienced in calibrating several disciplines of test and measurement equipment such as Physical Dimensional, Mass, Torque, Pressure, Temperature, Humidity, DC Low, Flow preferred Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1 and ISO 9000 requirements preferred Strong Communication skills including written, verbal and listening skills Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Internet Research and database management Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize workload Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record Must be willing to perform on-site work with some overnight travel required Experience working in a GMP environment preferably in a pharmaceutical or bio-tech company preferred Experience using Calibration Software such as: LabView, SURE/CAL and Met/Cal preferred Benefits: We believe people are the most important part of every business, which is why we offer more than just great health insurance plans at a great rate.
