the client seeks a visionary, academically distinguished, mission-driven Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs to serve as the chief academic officer. In this role, the leader is expected to advance the institution’s reputation for academic excellence, foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, and support the institution’s ongoing momentum. The position will be grounded in values of compassion, inclusivity, and service, along with a deep understanding of the complexities of higher education and the ability to navigate its changing landscape. Reporting to the President, the Provost will guide the academic enterprise and promote scholarly engagement, student success, and academic excellence. Responsibilities include ensuring curricula remain rigorous, relevant, and aligned with emerging global needs, advancing interdisciplinary and interprofessional initiatives, and expanding access to the institution’s educational experiences. As a senior leadership thought partner, the Provost will provide campus-wide leadership and support academic quality, institutional effectiveness, high-impact educational practices, strong faculty and student research, and clear policy and procedure guidance. The Provost will lead and collaborate with the academic leadership team, including deans across the institution’s schools and library and vice provosts supporting academics, research and innovation, and strategic initiatives. The role includes oversight of the annual operating budget for Academic Affairs and responsibility for research-related expenditures. The ideal candidate is expected to have demonstrated leadership capacity at a senior level in higher education and the ability to build collaborative relationships across faculty, students, staff, and external partners.
