Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Requirements:
- Active Medication Aide Certification in Virginia
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and treatments within the standards of practice as per certification permissions and state regulations.
- Prepare and administer routine and PRN medications to patients as prescribed by the physician and document administration per company policies
- Maintains medication supply, cleans and restocks medicine carts and medicine room.
- Notifies the pharmacy of new medication orders and refills.
- Performs accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy.
- Maintains current knowledge of medications and investigates unknown medications before administration.
