Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Medical Device Production

Location: Santa Rosa, CA | Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift | Pathway: Temp-to-Hire via Star Staffing

Every minute of uptime helps deliver high-quality medical products. In this role, you’ll be the craftsperson ensuring equipment runs safely, efficiently, and consistently—so teams can focus on making a difference.

The line starts at 7 a.m. You’ve already checked the PM queue, gathered parts, and lined up your tools. A sensor fault triggers on a machine: you trace the issue, confirm an electrical root cause, and restore operation. Later, you fabricate a small bracket to improve reliability on a hydraulic assembly. You close the loop by updating records in Outlook, Teams, and Microsoft Office—and share a quick note with production and quality.

• Execute and document preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Keep the maintenance schedule current and records audit-ready.
• Stock and organize parts and supplies to support timely PMs and repairs.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems with a strong safety mindset.
• Operate hand and power tools with care; build or modify parts to enhance equipment performance.
• Continuously improve throughput, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness.
• Adhere to company safety, quality, and ISO standards.
• Communicate clearly with production, engineering, and quality stakeholders.
• Use core computer tools (Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office) to coordinate and report work.
• Pitch in on additional tasks as business needs evolve.

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience.
• Deep understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems; strong electrical safety practices.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Comfort with both metric and standard tooling.
• Proven diagnostic ability and practical problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator; works well across departments.
• Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Teams, Microsoft Office).
• Adaptable and responsive to changing priorities.
• Nice to have: Spanish bilingual; electronics or ISO experience.

• Stand and walk for most of the day.
• Regular bending, squatting, climbing, and reaching around machinery.
• Lift and move up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Operate safely around typical manufacturing and machine shop hazards.
• Work comfortably with a computer when required.
